Privacy Policy

What Lighter Week collects, how we use it, and the controls teachers and schools have.

01

Overview

Lighter Week is an AI workload system for teachers. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect when teachers use Lighter Week, how it is used, and the controls available to teachers and schools.

Our guiding principle is simple: AI prepares. Teachers stay in control. We try to collect as little as we need to make that workflow useful.

02

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, set up a workspace, upload files, generate AI drafts, or contact us. We also collect limited technical data (such as device and browser information) needed to operate the product reliably.

03

Account information

When you create a Lighter Week account we collect your name, email address, and basic role information (for example, the subject or grade level you teach). This information is used to set up your workspace and personalize the product.

04

Classroom workflow data

Lighter Week stores the workflow content you create inside your workspace, such as lesson plans, rubrics, draft feedback, parent message drafts, and weekly priorities.

This content is scoped to your workspace and visible only to members with access to that workspace.

05

Uploaded files

Files you upload (for example, student work, source documents, or planning materials) are stored to support the workflows you choose to run on them. You can delete uploaded files from your workspace at any time.

06

AI generation data

When you ask Lighter Week to draft something, we record the request and the AI output in your workspace so you can review, edit, and keep an honest history of what was generated. AI outputs are drafts for teacher review, not finished decisions.

07

How we use information

  • To provide and improve the Lighter Week product and workflows you use.
  • To keep workspaces secure and prevent abuse.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate important product updates.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations where required.
08

How we protect information

We use industry-standard practices including encrypted transport, access controls, and workspace-scoped permissions. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what is collected and who can access it.

09

Workspace access

Workflow content is scoped to the workspace it was created in. Only members of that workspace can view it. Workspace owners can manage who has access.

10

Data retention

We retain workspace content while your account is active. After account termination, customer data is purged within 30 days, except where a longer period is legally required. You can also delete content from your workspace or request account deletion by contacting us.

11

Model fine-tuning

Customer data is siloed. Model fine-tuning uses anonymized datasets only.

12

Teacher and school responsibilities

Teachers and schools are responsible for ensuring that any student information they choose to enter into Lighter Week complies with their school’s policies and applicable laws. Lighter Week is a workflow tool — it does not replace your school’s data handling rules.

13

Children's data

Lighter Week is built for teachers and school staff, not for direct use by children. We do not knowingly create accounts for children, and no data is collected directly from students. Teachers should follow their school’s guidance before entering identifiable student information.
